Heist of Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse works done 'in under three minutes'

Robbery was not completed due to security measures says Magnani Rocca Foundation
The heist in which paintings by Renoir, Cezanne and Matisse were stolen from the Magnani Rocca Foundation museum at Traversetolo, near Parma, was a highly organized job conducted in under three minutes, the foundation has said.     Renoir's 'Fish', Cezanne's 'Still Life with Cherries' and Matisse's 'Odalisque on the Terrace' were stolen in the robbery, which took place several days ago but police did not report it until Sunday.     The foundation said the robbers would have made away with more masterpieces but they were unable to complete the heist because of the "activation of the protection systems" and the "swift intervention of internal security, the Carabinieri police, and the security institute".     The foundation hosts the collection of art historian Luigi Magnani, including works by Monet, Goya, Tiziano, Dürer, De Chirico, Rubens, Van Dyck, Filippo Lippi, Carpaccio, Burri, De Pisis, Tiepolo, Canova, and Giorgio Morandi.
